Returning Back To Gymnastics

The health and well-being of our students, families and staff continues to be our first priority, and we have worked hard to prepare for re-opening. As we start our re-opening, this will be done in phases with each phase allowing new restrictions, policies, and procedures we set in place to ease on each step. We are all looking forward to reconnecting with our GymSport families ready to thrive once again.

Re-Opening Phases

PHASE 1

Competition
Teams Only!
(All Levels)

 

  • New procedures and Guideline
  • New Cleaning & Sanitizing Procedures Begin.
  • Small Group Sizes
  • Restricted training hours on week 1 (May 26th – June 8th) .  Normal training hours resume the week of June 8th.

PHASE 2

Limited
Recreational Classes

 

  • Amended schedule and group size restriction in effect.
  • Stringent Phase 1 policies and procedures can be relaxed.
  • Continued cleaning / sanitizing procedures between and at the end of all classes.

PHASE 3

Back To
Regularly Scheduled Operations

 

  • Restrictions are relaxed further.
  • All Regularly scheduled programs resume.
  • All class sizes, ratios, and schedules will be re-evaluated.
  • Cleaning / Sanitizing between classes and in the evening will remain in effect.

GROUP SIZES

In order to ensure social distancing and maintain 50% capacity, all group sizes have been reduced.

 

  • Classes and Camp
    • Pre School : 4 max
    • All other classes 5 max
    • Camp: 9 max
  • Team
    • Groups will have staggered start times
    • Limited group sizes
    • Group size will be limited to 9 or fewer

ARRIVING TO THE GYM

*Note:  We are asking the all athletes to have a meal and use the restroom prior to arriving to GymSport.

 

  • All gymnast and parents must wait outside the facility upon arrival. Floor markers will be set outside to maintain social distancing.
  • A staff member will call each person to the facility door one at a time.  At this time, temperatures will be taken.  If anyone has a temperature, cough or any flu like symptoms are asked to stay home. Anyone will any of the named symptoms will be not be allowed into the facility.
  • Once entering the facility you will be required to either use hand sanitizer or wash hands immediately.
  • Athlete drop-off / pick-up is encouraged.
  • No more the 1 adult per athlete will be allowed.
  • All adults must wear a face mask while in facility.  No siblings will be allowed.

CLEANLINESS AND SANITIZATION

We are taking the following measures to ensure your safety.

 

  • Class scheduling will allow for breaks between classes so coaches can clean all mats and surfaces after each use.
  • We will encourage frequent hand washing for all athletes.
  • Hand sanitizer will be required upon entry to the building. We also require the athletes and coaches to use it after each station / event.
  • Hourly cleaning of common areas (lobby, restrooms, and surfaces).
  • Nightly deep clean of entire building.
  • Water fountains closed.
  • Open loose foam pit closed.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • Athletes will be asked to wear a mask when using all common areas (i.e. Lobby, Restroom, and Locker Area).
  • Warm up area, events and skill stations are clearly marked with 6ft distancing.
  • Athletes will be assigned to their own stations (no partnering).

SUSPECTED ILL

Please be cautious when choosing to send your child to the gym.  We rely on your responsibility during this time to keep our GSG family safe.

 

  • We encourage temperature checks prior to leaving for the gym. Do not send your child with flu symptoms or fever.
  • We reserve the right to temperature check your child and send your child home if we suspect illness. We will require a doctor’s note to return to GSG.
  • We will require a 14-day quarentine for athletes who test positive for Covid-19 or who come in contact with Covid-19.

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

In order to limit the bodies in our facility, we are highly encouraging drop-off and pick-up only.  We will limit 1 adult per athlete.

 

  • Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your child’s class / practice time. We will do our best to expedite the check-in process, but safety is our number one priority.
  • Please remain outside the facility and line up by floor markings.
  • Upon pick-up, please remain outside of the facility.  All athletes will line up, using social distancing. A staff member will have each athlete sanitize their hands and dismissed one at a time from the side door.

COACH & ATHLETE INTERACTION

A coach’s job is to ensure safety and success for our athletes.  While our coaches will be keeping more distance then usual, we can’t guarantee that they will not be in contact with your child.

 

  • Coaches will not spot athletes during the first week of our re-opening.  Limited spotting only when necessary for safety for the following three weeks.
  • No high fives or assisting with hair.
  • All coaches will wear a mask.
  • All coaches will be temperature checked prior to their shift.
  • Any coach that suspects illness or has an ill family member will be asked to stay home. If a coach tests positive for Covid-19 or comes in contact with Covid-19, they will be required to quarantine for 14 days and provide a negative test result to return to the gym.
